Day Out with Grandma

Today, Allie spent the afternoon shopping with her grandma. She enjoys this so much and looks forward to it every time! They went to Limited Too (her favorite store) and picked out a couple of outfits and visited several other stores along the way. You wouldn't believe what all she came back with! Check out her new outfits, etc. She is a very lucky girl!

Spring Break, Day 2

The girls really had a fun time together today! Emma is so glad that Allie is out of school this week! We didn't really have any set plans...just hanging out. Allie did manage to drag out her CD player and make the entire house listen to Hannah Montana. While she was "performing", she found my old cell phone and decided she needed one of her own...whatever. After dancing with Allie for a while, Emma asked me for her crayons and colored. Girls are so much fun! When Mark finished up for the day, we loaded the kids up and went out to Longhorn for dinner. We stopped by Barnes and Noble for the girls to pick out some books...American Girl for Allie and Horton Hears a Who for Emma.

Movies and Munchies

On the first day of Spring Break, we decided to watch movies (while eating popcorn and M&M's of course) and bake brownies. Both girls watched "Horton Hears a Who" upstairs while snuggled up on the floor. It was the original version...we're going to see the newly released one in the theater this week. Emma loved Horton and the Kangaroo...Allie liked "Nancy Drew" better. She watched that while Emma took a nap.

Allie helped me bake yummy Ghiradelli brownies, while Emma was sleeping. They were so good! They are Emma's favorite, too! Both girls absolutely love chocolate!

Braves Game & The Varsity

Mark and Allie had a fun day out! They went to eat at the Varsity and then headed over to watch the Braves game with my dad and sister while I stayed home (to rest my sore back) with Emma. My dad's company has really good season tickets (Lexus Level)and we get to use them quite a bit. Allie really enjoys going and loves to be in on the action! The Braves won 3-1! After chili dogs, onion rings and pizza...it was a fun day for everyone!

Catching Up!

This afternoon, my sister and I (along with our families) had lunch with our cousin, Jennifer (on the left) at Maggiano's. It was so good to catch up! She is one of my favorite cousins and I just adore her personality. She always makes me laugh. Now that we've reconnected, we are planning on getting together more frequently around town. We ate family style and really enjoyed the yummy food...and brought a lot of left-overs home. Can't wait to see her again!

Kitchen Sets

This is a very special, little, wooden kitchen set. I can remember playing with it as a child. In fact, my father and his brothers and sisters actually played with it in their outdoor family playhouse. It must be at least 60 years old! It used to be white until Allie came along and we painted it green and yellow to match her bumble bee and ladybug bedroom. Now, Emma has it in her frog princess room and it fits in with her decor as well. She has another kitchen set that was handed down from Allie that she loves to play with, too...it's just not as charming.

Ouch!

About a week ago, I slipped down about five stairs and thought I had just injured my tailbone. It had been hurting me all week. Well, Sunday, I was in so much pain that I could hardly move, much less walk. I ended up at the orthopedist's office for x-rays and an evaluation Monday morning. I was so happy to hear that nothing was broken! I evidently just have torn muscles in my lower back. The doctor prescribed a steroid, pain medicine, muscle relaxer and a back brace. He said I have to stop playing tennis for at least two weeks, maybe four! I can't pick Emma up, either...that has been a challenge! I go back in two weeks to be rechecked. I am starting to feel better, thank goodness!
