Too Much Fun

Friday afternoon, Mark and I took the girls to the North Georgia State Fair! I've been coming here ever since I was a little girl and this year did not disappoint! The weather was absolutely beautiful...the funnel cakes and apple cobbler were yummy...the fresh-squeezed lemonade was delicious...the pony rides were fun...lots of prizes were won from the silly games...the people were entertaining...you name it! Allie was over the little rides this year :( and Emma was too scared to hop on them. It was a great afternoon and we created lots of fun memories! We did not ride this! The last time I was on it (in college), I went behind it and threw up...lol. Cheryl was with me when this happened! I was sick the rest of the night! This EXACT ride has been around since I was a little girl! We stopped here first hoping Emma would want to get on...no such luck. Allie had to ride all by herself and was so embarrassed! She thought she was way too old for it...lol!It didn't take long to rack up a few stuffed animals and a snow cone. By the time the evening was over, we spent over $100 on food, tickets and games!Emma sure did enjoy watching Allie on the rides. Maybe next year she will be old enough to enjoy them herself.Dumbo is always a hit...Allie enjoyed the balloon popping game. She won a stuffed animal on the first try!We even got up close and personal with a horse! He was so friendly.Hanging out with the Mayfield Dairy cow!!!Emma's favorite game...grabbing the rubber ducks! I remember playing this when I was little.Allie was so brave to ride this boat all by herself!!! She rode it twice! The girls were so amazed that this silly robot new their names and could talk to them. It was so nice of him to pose for a picture!Of course, the fair would not be complete without a pony ride! This was Emma's first time on a pony. She was a little hesitant at first, but ended up really enjoying it!

Indoor Camping

The camp-o-ree tent managed to stay inside my house for one day. The girls had so much fun with it. They kept making me pretend I was a grizzly bear. You should have heard all of the screaming going on...poor Mark. I sure do hope the girls inherit my love of camping...lol.I might be bringing the orange tent back out this winter.

Another Adventure

Allie's elementary school had its annual "Kamp-O-Ree and Karnival" last night. This was our first attempt at camping with the girls...EVER. Actually, only Mark and Allie were camping out all night. Emma and I went back home when it got dark to our nice, warm beds. My dad joined us for a little bit...he wanted to see the girls in the tent. After 3 trips to the car, Mark managed to get everything down to our camp site only to find out that both of the air mattresses wouldn't fit inside. If you pay $29 for a brand new tent, that probably means it's not very big...lol! They went to sleep around 10pm and came home around 8am. They said you could hear people snoring all night long! It was pretty spacious before the air mattress arrived. Both girls were so excited! Allie spent most of the evening hanging out with her friends.I know Allie will never forget this night! Emma just wants us to put the tent in the living room.

So Proud of Allie!

Progress Reports recently came out and I am so proud of Allie's grades. She loves everything about 3rd grade and has been working very hard this year...she takes after me in that department...lol! Her teacher doesn't give number grades for Reading...yet. In fact, she is now reading on a 5.6 grade level, too! Keep up the good work, Allie!

Not Again!

After the purchase of our green diva keys (LOL), the weekend pretty much was going as planned. The girls willingly posed for some silly pictures and they were still on the "Katie and Sonny let me do whatever I wanted" high...until the dreaded stomach virus arrived in full force. Allie was up 3 times last night. I will spare you the details. Let's just say that I have been praying that no one else in this house gets it. Needless to say, Mark had to make a Ritz Cracker and Sprite run at 7:30 this morning.I'm hoping she returns to this normal state real soon. She can't stand to miss school. This one better not get it! The last time everyone had it, we were in Disney World...of all places!

Find of the Day...

Okay girls, while shopping at Lowe's with the hubby I ran across these cuties! Because of my love of all things pink and green I fell instantly in love. Of course, Allie had to have one, too...even though she has never, ever come home to an empty house and had to let herself in. Mark thought we were ridiculous...he didn't appreciate their cuteness.I don't think my key ring can handle anything else. By the way, when Mark drives my car...he uses his own key. Good thing...

Ritz-Carlton, Here We Come!

I have so much to do today! Tomorrow afternoon, we are headed to the Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead for my birthday! Katie and Sonny are keeping the girls. I have never left them both overnight before...so, this is a real treat! Before we go, I have to leave a VERY DETAILED list for them to follow. They have no idea what a day in my world is like...lol!

Troy & Brandy's Shower

Sunday night, we hosted a Couples Baby Shower for my cousin, Troy and his wife, Brandy. She is having a little boy, Hayden Cole and is due in 2 weeks! We had such a good time visiting with everyone and can't wait to meet this new addition to our family! Emma kept asking where little Hayden was...she expected to see him!

Way Back When...

Okay, Susan and Cheryl, this one is for you...lol! Do y'all remember going to Maggiano's when Shannon and John were back in town? That was forever ago! After seeing the recent Phi Mu Rush pictures on Facebook, I went searching for some of my old photos. Those were the days...What about this picture...bring back any memories? I did us all a favor and left out the one with the boys...LOL! Did you know that our sorority now has over 100 members? I believe they just gave bids to 47 new Phi's!!!! Can you believe that?! How awesome! It would be so much fun to go back and visit. It looks like they really have it all together. We must plan a big reunion, girls!
