Last Sunday, we loaded up the kids and headed north to Hillcrest Orchard in Ellijay for some apple picking. This particular orchard was featured in Southern Living and did not disappoint! Although most of the apples had already been picked, we still managed to find a few. Emma loved them so much that she wanted to pack one in her school lunch every day this week! We took a tour of the orchard in a horse and buggy, visited a petting zoo, sat on a bull, and played on a neat playground with a super slide. We went home with 6 homemade apple pies, 2 apple fritters that were out of this world and 2 gallons of delicious apple cider.

that one looks fun! We will have to try it next year. I didn't get an apple pies at Mercier. The market was soooooooo crowded. We picked so many apples that I told Jake he would be taking one in his lunch every day for about a week or two also!
